Ecoflo provide waterless, composting, chemical free toilets (compliant with AS 1546.2) to remote and developing communities in Australia, the Pacific Island Countries and beyond that protect their natural water supply, minimise water use and enhance their environment.

We understand that we aren’t just providing and installing toilets – we create an exercise in self-determination for a community. We create an opportunity for consultation, engagement, participation and skills transfer to the communities we work in. Ecoflo’s composting toilets use a chemical-free aerobic process using naturally occurring bacteria to recycle human waste, producing valuable compost and protecting groundwater.

Our manufacturing is based in Banyo, Brisbane with a staff of 15 people, supported by 37 re-sellers throughout Asia Australia Pacific. With 50 years trading history, our products and service are well proven.

Projects

  • Manus Island, Papua New Guinea
    Working with Wantaim (formerly Friends of Rambutso) to plan for a network of 100 Clivus-Multrum toilets around Manus Island province. The first toilets are now installed and functional with the second batch funded and planning and procurement well advanced.
  • KIABOLA BEACH PRIMARY SCHOOL TROBRIAND ISLANDS, PAPUA NEW GUINEA
    Challenge: A 250 person School previously using pit toilets. Poor impact on sanitation, the environment and the senses. Sanitisation was a concern of whole school community. Solution: Consultation, provision and installation of three new Clivus Multrum composting toilets, requiring no water for flushing while providing the school with fertiliser for gardens.
  • RAILACO KRAIC VILLAGE, EAST TIMOR
    Challenge: Basic squat toilet facilities with unreliable water supply and no electricity. Solution: After community consultation, we provided and installed a CM8 Clivus Multrum toilet for the entire village to use.
  • ESPOIR SCHOOL OF LIFE, SOUTH PHILIPPINES
    Challenges: School with no sewage system, frequent groundwater contamination from septic tanks and pit toilets with high rainfall. Solution: Community engagement process, provision and installation of one CM40 composting toilet system to provide clean toilets to service the new 12 classrooms.
  • NUSA ISLAND RETREAT, PAPUA NEW GUINEA
    Challenge: Retreat located on isolated island. Solution: Clivus Multrum system selected due to; looks, environmentally friendly, maintenance ease, no risk to groundwater or smell.
  • Challenges: This sustainable, tourism friendly eco-resort needed a nice looking toilet solution that was eco-friendly while remaining stylish and comfortable for guests. Solution: We provided and installed the Nature Loo Classic 750. The benefit was it looked like a regular toilet, but is waterless and provided compost for gardens.
