Location: Stream 2 – Room M1; this session is also part of Ozwater’s online program.

Part of the Australian Water Sector’s journey is our proud history of assistance to countries in our region. This session aims to increase awareness of this untold story, and to invite interested partners to discuss the importance and value of partnerships to provide effective support. The session presents case studies of partnerships that not only address water management and water supply, sanitation and hygiene issues but also consider emerging risks associated with climate change. These case studies illustrate how Australian water skills & expertise is being included in partnerships in the Asia Pacific region to increase climate resilience of water systems and improve water security.

The Australian Water Partnership, Griffith University’s International WaterCentre and WaterAid are partnering to share with the Australian water community some of the good work done that contributes to water security and to the Sustainable Development Goal 6 in the Asia Pacific.

This interactive session will illustrate the value of being a development partner and working in partnerships with local and international partners present examples of demand for Australian expertise to address climate-resilient water security and provide a platform for attendees to discuss and reflect on the best ways to address those development problems.
