Ozwater’24

Ozwater is the biggest water conference and exhibition in the Southern hemisphere. Hosted by Australian Water Association, the annual three-day event features a strong line-up of international and national keynote speakers, scientific and technical papers, case studies, workshops, panel sessions and poster presentations. 

This year’s theme ‘Accelerating Action’ is an appeal to communities addressing the crucial role of water in tackling climate crisis. Ozwater’24 will explore actionable strategies for sustainable water resource management so that generations to come can thrive in a better and safer future.

AWP Engagement at Ozwater 

The Australian Water Partnership is proudly supporting the Australian Water Association (AWA) as the International Development Partner for Ozwater’24. 

Join the International Development stream on Wednesday, 1 May where water experts and utility leaders from the Pacific, Southeast Asia, and Australia will gather to examine the impact of climate change on water sectors, discuss the role of water associations in addressing climate challenges, and explore innovative approaches to building climate resilience.  

Stream: Building Climate Resilient Water Sectors through International Partnerships 

Session 1  | Uniting Water Leaders Across Our Region 

10:35am – 12:00pm | Room: 203/204 

This session will bring together water experts from the Pacific, Southeast Asia, and Australia to discuss the need for climate resilience in water sectors and the role of water associations in addressing climate challenges. The panel features representatives from the Vietnam Water Association (VWSA), the Indonesian Water Association (PERPAMSI), the Pacific Water and Wastewater Association (PWWA), and from Australia’s AWA and the Australian Water Partnership. Session participants will explore critical themes such as climate change impacts and the role water associations individually and collectively have in supporting the wider water sector to meet these challenges.

This session features international and Australian water utility leaders sharing perspectives on climate resilience, including strategies for non-revenue water reduction, energy efficiency, and disaster response. The panel will highlight the role of utility-to-utility partnerships in tackling climate crisis.
