Daniel Lambert

Daniel is Chair of the Expert Review Panel of the Australian Water Partnership and an Adjunct Professor of Humanitarian Engineering at the University of New South Wales. He has extensive experience in the water sector including in his role as the Executive Manager for Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions at Unitywater and recent role as the Australasia Water Business Leader for Arup, he is a . He has extensive experience delivering water and sanitation projects in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa and South America. Daniel is passionate about water in developed and developing countries and working with clients and stakeholders to identify, develop and implement smart, sustainable solutions for clients. 

Daniel’s experience includes delivering first of a kind design solutions and industry leading advice in long term water planning and policy. He enjoys solving complex challenges and in 2016 Daniel was recognised by Engineers Australia as one of Australia’s ‘Most Innovative Engineers’ and in 2018 as the Australian Water Association NSW Water Professional of the Year. In 2021 Daniel received the Sir John Holland Civil Engineer of the Year Award from Engineers Australia. 

He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, is a Director of Engineers Without Borders Australia and a Chair and Director of Carbon8 Fund. Other industry roles include the International Advisory Committee of the UNSW Global Water Institute, Steering Committee Member of the Humanitarian Engineering Community of Practice with Engineers Australia, as a Specialist on the RedR Australia Humanitarian Roster and as a member of the Technical Advisory Board of Operation Water. 

Daniel undertook his BSc and BE (Hons) in Civil Engineering at Monash University, a DipGovMgt and DipPersMgt at Royal Military College, Duntroon and his Masters of Business and Technology and Masters of Engineering Science at the University of New South Wales.
