Lachlan Prien

Program Officer

Lachlan is a Program Officer at the Australian Water Partnership as a part of the Core Grants team. Through his diverse experiences and studies, Lachlan has refined his political, economic and development sector knowledge and is adept at applying these skills to development projects.  

With a background in advocacy and youth empowerment, Lachlan was previously a Community Facilitator at the Create Foundation. He delivered advocacy workshops, reviewed grant applications, and provided policy and procedural recommendations for the Out-Of-Home-Care sector.  

Lachlan has extensive volunteering experience across Oaktree, the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, SEE-Change, Abundant Water, Amnesty International, Results International and the Australian Multicultural Foundation. He is well-versed in drawing on his passion and knowledge of aid, development, and foreign policy to ensure projects achieve effective poverty alleviation and environmentally sustainable outcomes.  

Lachlan holds a Bachelor of International Development from the Australian National University. He has a keen interest in Pacific affairs and employing best practice solutions to foster sound governance, climate resilience and sustainable water management.
