Shreya Gyawali
Program Officer
Shreya supports the knowledge, partnerships, events, and communications team at AWP. Her role as a Program Officer is informed by her academic background in applied anthropology and professional experience in media and communications.
Prior to joining AWP, Shreya worked with the Institute for Social and Environmental Transition as a Research Officer in Kathmandu, Nepal. She was engaged in drafting policy briefs and conducting fieldwork with local communities to support the delivery of projects that examined issues related to river basin governance, disaster management, and gender equality and social inclusion. As a passionate advocate for gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI), Shreya is interested in exploring the intersections of GEDSI and water security, climate change and disaster risk reduction, and working in the areas of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Menstrual Hygiene Management.
Shreya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai, and a Master of Applied Anthropology and Participatory Development from the Australian National University, Canberra. She is also a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute.
