This video, directed and shot by Nachiket Pangare (Nash), covers the issue of water scarcity that is looming in many parts of the world. Water scarcity affects more than 40% of the global population, especially in Africa, Asia and Latin America. With agriculture accounting for over 70% of the world’s water consumption; food production expected to double within the next 10 years; and groundwater being depleted at an astonishing rate, water scarcity problems are set to rise. Efficiency and desalination are emerging solutions to this global crisis.
The seven-minute video premiered at the 2016 World Water Congress and Exhibition and puts a human face to the statistics, showing the ways that people in India use and transport water for their essential needs.
