Integrated Urban Water Management

Understanding the water needs of urban, peri-urban and rural communities is crucial for improving health, livelihoods and the environment. By integrating the management of source water, stormwater, wastewater and drinking water, city leaders, urban planners and water utilities can more holistically address urban water challenges. Australia is well-placed to share research and practice on improving the sustainability, resilience, productivity and liveability of cities and towns. This includes issues related to waterway health, wastewater treatment and recycling, infrastructure, flooding and smart technologies.
