The Australian Water Partnership (AWP) is seeking an Australian Partner to undertake an evaluation of a capacity development program in the Pacific with the intention of informing the design of a proposed follow-on program.
AWP has been supporting governance and capacity development activities within the Pacific Water and Waste Water Association (PWWA) since December 2016.
The AWP PWWA Capacity Development Assistance Program was an AU$1.1M investment to support PWWA with the delivery of governance and capacity development activities. The program had three major components: i) PWWA secretariat support; ii) Board governance and financial training; and iii) Pacific Young Water Professionals (YWP) program.
With this support, AWP has assisted PWWA’s development and reforms to move from a volunteer-based organisation to a professional body with full time employees and a five-year strategic plan focussed on developing the capacity of its members and optimising the organisation’s performance.
AWP is currently considering a second phase of capacity development as the remainder of the five-year plan is implemented. The AWP is seeking an Australian Partner to review the performance of the first phase of funding to improve the design of the second phase.
