X42 Monitoring is a Queensland-based hardware manufacturer specialising in offline-first water and fluid monitoring systems for rural, remote, and off-grid applications across Australia and the Indo-Pacific. Our flagship product, the X42 Tank Monitor, provides real-time water tank level readings via long-range LoRa wireless — requiring no WiFi, no mobile app, and no subscription fees. Readings can be transmitted up to 1km to a simple receiver display, making the system viable in locations where internet connectivity and cellular coverage cannot be assumed. The product range also includes a diesel fuel monitoring variant and the XMC Industrial Controller for broader fluid and asset monitoring applications.
Founded in Horse Camp in the Bundaberg region and supported by the Queensland Government Ignite Ideas Fund, X42 is selling their products direct and wholesale channels across Australia, with distribution expanding into New Zealand.
We recognise strong alignment between X42’s connectivity-independent design and the water security challenges facing Pacific Island communities particularly those managing rainwater harvesting infrastructure in areas without reliable digital infrastructure. Our interest in partnering with AWP stems from a desire to contribute practical, low-cost monitoring technology to existing and future tank deployment programmes across the Pacific, and to better understand where Australian-made hardware can genuinely support climate-resilient water management outcomes in the region.
