MidCoast County Council

MidCoast County Council (trading as MidCoast Water) is a local government water utility constituted under the NSW Local Government Act. Formed in 1997, we are the only County Council in NSW managing both water supply and sewerage services in one integrated regional utility. MidCoast Water is responsible for the provision of water supply and sewerage services to 40,000 homes and businesses in the Greater Taree, Great Lakes and Gloucester local government areas.

– owns and operates 21 water supply and sewerage schemes with an asset value of $1.3 billion
– project managed the implementation of $315 million in water and sewerage infrastructure in the last 20 years
– owns and operates SCADA and wide area network spanning 10,000 square kilometres
– has complementary strategies for non-infrastructure solutions including demand management, community
engagement, catchment management and community sponsorship
– has led international water operator partnerships (twinning) facilitated by Asian Development Bank with 3
utilities in Samoa and Tonga
