Australian Water Association

The Australian Water Association (AWA) is the national peak water organisation, delivering information, expertise and collaboration for sustainable water management. Membership is broadly-based and multi-disciplinary, covering the entire water cycle. AWA provides the platform for our water experts, practitioners and businesses to share information, grow expertise and collaborate effectively. The AWA has 600 corporate members and 4500 individual members from across Australia. International engagement is not a new program for the Association; it is embedded within the Association’s constitution; to serve as the principal Australian link in the international water industry network.

Projects

  • Vietnam economic diplomacy funding
    Program comprises strengthening financial and investment structures,trade and business development and capacity building.
  • Ozwater international programs
    AWA operates a special international program as part of Ozwater which includes site visits of interest, special sessions, b2b matching and international lounge, an enhanced program will be delivered at Ozwater 16 in Melbourne
  • India Water week
    AWA in partnership with Austrade led a delegation of 16 water companies to exhibit at India Water Week in January 2015. There was great interest and follow up in Zero liquid discharge opportunities from the Ganga river rejuvenation project
  • Singapore International Water Week
    AWA led a delegation to SIWW June 2014. the delegation included 11 water companies at the exhibition. AWA together with the PUB and SWA Singapore arranged business matching. The Austrade Asian Business engagement program provided support funding for the participation. AWA plans to attend SIWW in July 2016
  • National policy Summit
    AWA runs a National Policy Summit each year. the summit brings together over 100 water professionals where they focus on policy matters of concern to the industry, the Summit includes state of the water survey and makes policyrecommendations to government
  • Vietwater 2015
    AWA will mount an Australia exhibit at vietwater 25-27 November, this includes sponsorship from DFAT, ANZ and BOM. In addition to the exhibition there will be a water quality workshop, site visits and b2b matching
