About  Australian Water Environments

Established in 1998, AWE is a South Australian based environmental consulting firm specialising in water and natural resource management. The company is owned and operated by technical experts passionate about hydrogeology, hydrology and engineering who have come together to provide practical solutions to clients. Our technical directors have a long standing history of being involved in the water sector in South Australia and have provided support to local and interstate water projects since 1977.

The team at AWE comprises professional and support staff with excellent knowledge and strong technical capabilities in the areas of hydrogeology, hydrology, natural resource management and wastewater management.

Hydrogeological capabilities include all aspects of bore field investigations, design, construction, optimisation and operational management support; retention basin investigations and management; groundwater, surface water and vegetation interactions; floodplain processes; Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) design and implementation; groundwater supply investigations, water well drilling and construction management; groundwater investigations and resource management; dewatering; salinity impact assessment and salinity management; and groundwater engineering. Hydrology and Natural Resource Management (NRM) capabilities include hydrology, eco-hydrology, civil and environmental engineering, stormwater management strategies, water resources and catchment management, floodplain mapping and modelling, Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), wetland design and watercourse management and rehabilitation. Wastewater management capabilities include planning and design of; wastewater treatment systems (domestic to small scale industry); effluent reuse including irrigation management plans, head works and recycled network modelling and design; stormwater harvesting, treatment and MAR; and wastewater collection (sewer) concepts and detailed design for new developments.
