Climate Risk was established in 2006 as a company dedicated to climate change impact analysis for business and government with a special focus on quantified analysis and modelling. Since then the company has been a lead company in climate policy development in insurance, telecommunications, water, community services and generalised infrastructure. Dr Karl Mallon is also an author in the field and a board member of the Climate Bonds Initiative.
- Climate Risk has unique capabilities that are useful for the objectives of APW, especially with regard to
regional water security, reduce environmental impacts and economic development.
- We are able to look at ways to identify assets at risk from climate exacerbated risks like coastal
inundation and sea level rise.
- We assist utilities in using hazard and climate downscale mapping.
- We are also able to bring international data bases on known risks from around the world to the attention pacific utilities - which is already having awareness raising benefits and explanations for change.
