The company was established in 1990. GDT Lining Systems Pty Ltd (www.GDTLining.com.au) has common ownership with Maddocks and specializes in the construction of remote area water supply systems. GDT maintains a depot and workshop in Innisfail. Maddocks and GDT are fully equipped and mobile. The companies can work together to deliver a finished product in a short time with design, procurement and construction proceeding in parallel. Andrew Maddocks is the Australian Director of FujiClean Australia Pty Ltd (www.fujiclean.com.au). FujiClean has a factory in Coomera, Queensland which manufactures small compact sewerage treatment systems capable of treating up to 20,000 liters of black water/day. The company manufactures 800 units/annum at the Coomera site. The company maintains a stock of these units in Coomera and is able to arrange supply and installation at short notice at remote locations. FujiClean is the largest manufacturer of compact waste water treatment systems in Japan and supply of units directly from Japan is able to be arranged at short notice. FujiClean Japan has significant organisational and technical capacity on which FujiClean Australia can draw. FujiClean Japan supplied and installed temporary treatment capacity at Fukushima following the recent events related to the Tsunami in the area.

Organisational Capability

  • Maddocks staff has wide experience in the investigation, design and direct construction of remote area village/community water supply and waste water treatment systems in the Torres Strait and Papua New Guinea. Work in New Guinea has included design of up to 50 village water supply systems constructed by either self-help labour or a mixture of self-help and contract assistance. Work in the Torres Strait has included the design and construction of rainwater catchment systems and inground floating roof water storages on 7 islands. Small remote project work can be taken through the stages of Investigation-Design-Procurement-Construction in a short timeframe to alleviate emergency conditions with full financial accountability. Maddocks has wide experience in post disaster construction following Cyclone Larry and Yasi in the Queensland towns of Innisfail and Tully. Maddocks was Project Manager for the reconstruction of Local Government Buildings following Cyclone Larry and provided damage assessment and remediation design for 1600 other buildings. Maddocks has a staff of 3 senior engineers and support staff. Field support is provided by GDT Lining Systems Pty Ltd www.gdtlining.com.au which is fully equipped plastic welding and liner Installation Company experience in pipe welding and reservoir construction. GDT has a staff of up to 20 technicians. The company has worked on water supply and mining projects in remote locations throughout Australia and PNG. Maddocks is small and flexible and able to provide quick, well organized technical design and construction solutions in remote and challenging environments. Projects

  • Coconut Island
Design and construction of island water supply components including two large inground water storages provided with floating covers to minimise evaporation. HDPE lined catchments were also provide to catch rainwater. Rainwater is the only source of drinking water on the island for the community.
  • Mabuiag Island
Design and construction of island water supply components including two large inground water storages provided with floating covers to minimise evaporation. HDPE lined catchments were also provide to catch rainwater. Rainwater is the only source of drinking water on the island for the community.
  • Warraber Island
Design and construction of island water supply components including two large inground water storages provided with floating covers to minimise evaporation. HDPE lined catchments were also provide to catch rainwater. Rainwater is the only source of drinking water on the island for the community.
  • Darnley Island
Design and construction of an of creek storage incorporating a floating cover to minimise evaporation. The creek only flowed seasonally and storage was required for water supply requirements over the dry season.
  • Kar Kar Island PNG
Identification of water supply source at the top of the active volcano, testing of the source, design of polyethylene delivery main with a length of approximately 10km with pressure relief reservoirs and local village take off to standpipes. Arrangement of village labour to construct the work and commissioning and training.
