The Australian National University (ANU) is a research-intensive university with global standing specialising in
discovery and public policy. The Crawford School of Public Policy (https://crawford.anu.edu.au) and Fenner
School of Environment and Society (http://fennerschool.anu.edu.au) are key focal points for research, education
and policy engagement on water policy and management in Australia and across the Indo-Pacific region. The
College of Asia and the Pacific has the world’s largest number of staff and students working on the region, with a
large volume of ANU alumini returning to the Asia-Pacific to assume positions within their home country
governments.
Various centres and groups within the Crawford and Fenner Schools, as well as the rest of the ANU, have
supported the understanding of key trade-offs between different water uses and have the capacity to share
Australian lessons with the Indo-Pacific region. These units include:
• UNESCO Chair in Water Economics and Transboundary Water Governance
