The Nature Conservancy

Over the past six decades, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) has established itself as a leader in freshwater
conservation and management, supporting more than 250 experts and investing in more than 600
freshwater projects worldwide. Our work encompasses whole ecological systems and involves hundreds of
partners such as government agencies and some of the world’s leading water users, managers and energy
developers. Our freshwater program covers the US, Latin Amercia, Africa and the Asia-Pacific (including
China, India, Myanmar and Australia). TNC is successfully marrying cutting edge science with practical
conservation and sustainable development initiatives, with particular attention paid to the intersection
between nature and people. Our freshwater work has garnered support from a host of public and private
sources, including Cargill, Caterpillar Inc., the FEMSA Foundation, the International Hydropower
Association, the Global Environment Facility, Goldman Sachs, Ingram Barge, Monsanto, the Packard
Foundation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Fish and
