PWWA workshop in Canberra

As was reported in October, the AWP has embarked on a multifaceted capacity-building activity with the Pacific Water & Wastewater Association (PWWA) and its member utilities.

As a part of this, PWWA members flew to Canberra for a 3-day workshop from 29 Nov to 1 Dec. The aim of the workshop was to identify common challenges and opportunities in water management faced by utilities operating in the Pacific. This information is useful for, among other things, guiding the capacity development investments by both the AWP and ADB.

The workshop of 28 participants from across the Pacific was expertly facilitated by Nicole Holmes and Jim Keary (Hunter H2O), Jaime Hicks (WSAA), several AWP Committee members and staff, and international staff from the IWA and ADB also participated.

The workshop was one of the first events for the new CEO of the PWWA, Ms Pitolau Lusia SefoLeau of Samoa.
