Australian Water Narrative and High Level Panel on Water Papers

The Australian Water Partnership is pleased to provide the international community with access to resources that describe how water is managed in Australia and how arrangements have evolved to cope with drought and water scarcity.

Our initial resources comprise two series of papers:

  1. The Australian Water Narrative. Written by senior, experienced ex-water managers, this series captures the thirty-year journey of water reform in Australia in a series of short, inter-linked high-level summaries covering the key steps in reform across a range of sectors and topics. The first two narratives in this series are now available.
  2. HLPW Framing Papers. Written by senior industry and academic experts, these ‘framing notes’ were provided to the Secretariat of the UN/World Bank High Level Panel on Water, to contribute to their efforts to set an agenda.
