Anita Walters

Strategy and Partnerships Lead

Anita is an experienced development practitioner with over ten years in public administration and is dedicated to supporting strategic sectors – such as water for development.

As the Strategy and Partnerships lead Anita engages in the domestic and international water spaces, building partner engagement, as well as supporting knowledge development and management to support Australia’s strategic priorities in the sector.

Anita joined the Australian Water Partnership after establishing a centre for water resource management in the Mekong region, an Australian Government initiative in partnership with eWater Limited and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  She brings with her experience in the Mekong water sector and strategic collaboration across government, private sector, and development stakeholders.

With a technical background in education, specialising in diversity, inclusion and building partnerships, Anita has built her career managing programs on governance, agriculture and empowering women and girls with a focus on strategic policy development and evaluation.

Anita is a volunteer firefighter with the New South Wales Rural Fire Service and balances work with equestrian pursuits and enjoying the rural outlook from her home on beautiful Ngunnawal Country.
