Rohan Kent

Program Lead

Rohan is the Program Lead at the Australian Water Partnership overseeing a diverse range of projects across the Indo-Pacific in river basin and water resources planning, urban and rural water, agriculture, flood and drought management, and climate resilience.

Rohan began his international humanitarian and development career in 2007 and has worked across both frontline and head office positions for international Non-Government Organisations, including his most recent position of Deputy Humanitarian Director at Save the Children Australia. A year spent in the Concepts and Capabilities unit at the Australian Civil-Military Centre has helped to further his management skillset from a military assistance perspective.

Rohan has worked directly across several development and disaster settings, implementing integrated programs in the protection, WASH, food security and livelihoods, and health sectors in the Philippines, Fiji, Pakistan, and South Sudan.

Much of Rohan’s work has also focused on developing large-scale civil society partnerships and programs such as the current Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Stabilisation and Reconciliation Program, which is a consortium of international agencies and key stakeholders in Iraq.
While at Save the Children, Rohan was elected to be the agency’s representative on the Board for the Sphere Standards, a primary resource dedicated to improving the quality and accountability of humanitarian assistance standards globally.

Rohan holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development from the Australian National University and a Master of International Urban and Environmental Management from RMIT.
