Van Duong

Program Coordinator

Van has more than 12 years’ experience in international development with a focus on the delivery and management of projects and programs funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Prior to joining AWP, she worked for the former AusAID then DFAT Post on education, health, water and sanitation, and aid strategy in Vietnam.

During this time, Van managed and contributed to the design of flagship Australian aid bilateral and regional water investments including the Joint Donor Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program; Civil Society Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Fund; and the Water for Women Fund. She has worked with multilateral agencies (UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank) in improving access to clean water for rural populations, and strengthening WASH in schools and health facilities in Vietnam.

Van played a role in enabling market entry for Australian utilities and facilitating business and joint ventures through installation of innovative, low-cost water treatment and supply technologies in remote areas and establishing a rural public-private water partnership. She also worked on transboundary water resources management in the Mekong Delta and DFAT’s COVID-19 development response in Vietnam.

Van holds a Master of Business Administration from La Trobe University and a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from RMIT University.
